Version 1.4 of The Primary Matters Guide™ is Now Available
Enhancements Include VOIP and Speech Recognition Technology Templates
Tiburon, CA - January 21, 2004 - Primary Matters, Inc. announced the release of Version 1.4 of their activity-based budgeting, planning and business analysis software, The Primary Matters Guide™. Among several exciting enhancements, the ability to produce accurate and defensible Return on Investment (ROI) reports for VOIP and Voice Recognition implementations was added, as well as additional features supporting The Guide's growing role in managing Outsourcer relationships.
Technology Templates are a patent-pending feature of The Guide. When the goal is to understand the impact of technology acquisition on an organization, the user simply 'turns on' the appropriate Template. The investment, systems integration, installation, maintenance, and operational costs, as well as productivity benefits, are applied and compared to a baseline without the technology. This enables the user, in a manner of minutes, to understand the ROI and business impact of the technology acquisition.Version 1.4 also adds a range of features that enable users to modify the Templates provided by Primary Matters, or if they wish, quickly create their own Templates. Once these Templates are put 'in production,' The Guide becomes the monthly tracking tool to ensure the benefits of the implementations are realized. This provides IT, Operations, and Financial Managers a revolutionary tool to ensure that the right decisions are made and that corporate promises are kept.
In addition to VOIP and Speech Recognition Technology Templates, Version 1.4 also directly addresses the expanding Outsourcing Market. Features have been added to the Outsourcing Templates that enable users and consultants to analyze not only the impact of outsourced personnel hours, but also to analyze transaction based pricing such as a price per email, phone call, letter, or web interaction. The actual transaction and the price per transaction is completely configurable by the user.
Mary Jo Kulp, President of Primary Matters, reports that "The Guide's Outsourcing Template has been successfully used by many customers in 2003. One high tech company is currently using The Guide to manage three world wide outsourced sites. The activity based nature of The Guide, and the ability to link forecasted 'Business Drivers' to the Activities, produces monthly staffing requirements and accurate invoices from the outsourcer to their customer. This has resulted in over a 35% reduction in annual cost. For this customer, The Guide is also producing monthly performance metrics and quarterly vendor scorecards. The outsourcers have embraced The Guide because it is enabling very clear and precise communication between them and their customer. It is a win-win for everyone."
Brian Hinton, Vice President Product Development of Primary Matters says "Version 1.4 also significantly increased the number and detail of reports available when using the Scenario Comparison feature of The Guide. One of our customers is using the Scenario Comparison feature to benchmark seven outsourcers that perform work for them. This is enabling them to identify best practices and establish standard processes, which will lead to reduced costs. We are pleased to report that our customers requested additional Scenario Comparison reports, indicating that this unique feature of The Guide is becoming an indispensable enterprise-wide planning tool. Our customer base doubled in 2003 because of the unique capabilities of The Guide, and we expect even greater acceleration in 2004. Watch for an exciting announcement about the release of our internet version of The Primary Matters Guide™."
